We have all heard of AIB (All India Bakchod) due to its recent escapade "AIB Knockout": the roast starring Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar as the host.
The show was aired on YouTube in 3 parts on 28th January, though it was removed from YouTube on 3rd February.
Reason being the countless FIRs against the show on grounds of obscene language. The FIR was launched against 14 persons including actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar.
well why all this BAKCHODI:
1. Salman Khan criticized Karan Johar to take part in the show ( despite not having seen the show himself ) even though his mother was sitting in the first row.
2. The show recieved many relegious comments, thereby forcing the AIB Team to offer an unconditional appology to the Christian and Archdiocese community for any offence caused to the relegious sentiments
3. Many have come in support for AIB and the concept of freedom of speech.
4. Kamaal R Khan is known for his controversial statements and when it comes to AIB, he put up a review of the same on YouTube. In the video he said, "In AIB's show it was said that Sonakshi is so fat and what not. And she was laughing at it but when I said something, Sonakshiji said that I do not respect women. Why such hypocrisy? Also why is Parineeti Chopra not saying anything now? but she immediately blocked me when I commented about her weight. Why such double standard?"
5. In response to Aamir Khan's statements, Anurag Kashyap posted a link on his Facebook page where Aamir had spoken in defence of the DK Bose song from the movie Delhi Belly (produced by Aamir Khan). Aamir had said, "I have already informed my audiences that it is an adult film. Please do not go with your kids and those who have a problem with this kind of language shouldn't come either. I try my best to inform the audiences before-hand. Then they can decide themselves. If the audience is adult, they can decide themselves. So from my end I do all these things for my fans."
Every coin has 2 sides, in the same way comedy has 2 sides. one being the amusement (for the jester) and the other being despair (for the jested).
These actors signed up for the show to display their good sense of humour by being laughed at. The audiences had been warned about the adult content in the program, just like in the film Delhi Belly, where we were warned by Amir Khan himself about the films mature content.
Freedom of Speech and Expression are our birth rights. Our judicial system agrees upon this with all its might.
We might have the freedom of speech and freedom of expression,
BUT,
IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE CAN USE WHATEVER LANGUAGE WITH ANYONE, THAT TOO ANYWHERE.
The AIB KNOCKOUT has sparked a controvertial debate between the expressionists and religious literature.
“Speak, for your lips are free,
Speak, for your speech is yet your own,
Speak, for the truth is till now alive,
Speak, for your life is still your own.”
